Day Twenty Seven – It Actually Happens

I know it’s probably the most typical photo brought back from China, and the most commonly told travel story on people’s return from the country: “They do Tai Chi in the parks!”. Despite the fact I see it most days, I’ve even studied the Tai Chi discipline now, I still get a little tickly feeling every time I walk past people doing it. A smile invades my face and for a good minute or so I think to myself: “Gosh, this is a great country”. This warm fuzzy feeling is often brought to an abrupt end by the intrusive noise of the deep hocking of a lurgie, the splutter of a diesel engine or a cacophony of car honking.
